MHI Delivers Variable Speed Centrifugal Chiller to Tallest Building in Japan
Abeno Harukas is a super tall building situated in Abeno-ku, Osaka City. Space cooling of this Abeno Harukas is performed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ (MHI’s) centrifugal chiller. This variable speed centrifugal chiller fully performs its power all year round.

1. Haier Asia Kicks Off Laos Expansion Plans at Lao Techmart
Haier Asia participated the Lao Techmart for the first time, taking one of the first steps in the Laos portion of its ASEAN expansion. The Lao Techmart is technology event to promote advanced technologies and products, which was held from December 11 to 15 in Vientiane and organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

3. New Low-GWP Refrigerant from AGC
JARN interviewed Mr. Fukushima during the Kobe Symposium to learn more about the development of the new refrigerant. The new low-GWP refrigerant is a blend of HFO-1123 and R32, and the global warming potential (GWP) value differs depending on the blend ratio. According to AGC’s press release from March 2014 announcing the refrigerant, the refrigerant has a GWP of about one-sixth R410A.

4. HARFKO 2015 to Offer HVAC&R Business Chance
HARFKO 2015, the 13th Heating, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition Korea, will be held from March 10 to 13, 2015, at Kintex exhibition center in Gyeonggi-do, Korea.  Exhibits include compressors, air conditioning units, refrigerating and freezing equipment, related parts for AC&R, cooling towers, automatic apparatus and measurements, heating equipment, installation materials, and cleanrooms.

5. VRF Sales Growth Slows Down in China
Impacted by decelerated growth of the real estate industry, VRF market started to cool down in China. From January to October, 2014, sales value of VRF has grown by 15% year-onyear, showing some decline. However, VRFs enjoyed a higher growth rate than average sales level of the whole light commercial air conditioners.
