According to BSRIA, the overall chiller market in the five Middle Eastern countries of Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE came to US$ 609.8 million in 2013, up 0.5% from US$ 606.9 million in 2012. The major drop in demand experienced in 2012 appears to have bottomed out.

2. New Heat Exchangers for VRF Systems
Chillventa was chosen as the venue to launch Mitsubishi Electric’s new range of all aluminum heat exchangers for its City Multi VRF range which will start selling on the European market in 2015. The advantages compared with earlier copper tube/ aluminum fin versions are its better heat transfer rate, reduced overall weight and footprint, and 10% less refrigerant content.

3. Middle East Solidifies Sustainable Growth
From November 17 to 20, 2014, the 35th Big 5 International Building and Construction Show was held at the Dubai World Trade Center. Launched in 1979, the Big 5 show is the largest construction exhibition in the Middle East, hosting more than 2,700 international exhibitors from nearly 60 countries, and welcomes more than 74,000 participants from 124 countries.

4. Foreign Brands Rushing to China’s Air Purifier Market
The 2014 China International Ecology and Environment Technology and Equipment Expo and the 8th China International Air Purification Industry and Fresh Air Technology Equipment Expo were held at China International Exhibition Center. The expo was highlighted by presence of many foreign brands in China market.

5. Japan Promoting AC Standardization in Southeast Asia
In collaboration with the Japan Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Testing Laboratory (JATL), the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEE) is actively moving forward with the Innovation Technology Research Association (INOTEK) project. The International Standard Innovation Technology Research Association (IS-INOTEK) is a technology research association established in January 2012 to perform R&D, extend support, and give technological instruction concerning international standardization and certification projects.
