5. Technical Trends in Central Chiller Systems
Improving the overall energy efficiency of central chiller systems can be achieved not only by enhancing chiller performance but also by improving air-side equipment efficiency and optimizing the entire system’s operation taking into account the operating conditions. Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and permanent magnet (PM) motor technologies are effective means for this purpose.
