* Daikin Sets Sights on Top Spot in Global Centrifugal Market

1. Mini VRF in Taiwan Increases by 40%
VRF has experienced a high growth in Taiwan in recent years and has seized substantial share from scroll chillers. The Taiwanese VRF market was about 8,300 units in 2013, recording double-digit annual growth. Growth of around 15% is anticipated in 2014. VRF in the range of 4-10 hp is called mini VRF. The mini VRF market in 2013 was about 1,700 units, accounting for about 20% of the total VRF market. Mini VRF is getting popular in high-end apartments and houses, and growth of nearly 40% is predicted in 2014 over 2013”.

2. Future for HFOs
According to many exhibitors at the last Chillventa expo in Nuremberg, Germany, some HFO blends had performed so well in tests that they could act as true drop-in replacements even when using the same lubricants. DuPont’s John McMenamin says that the much lower global warming potential (GWP) demanded by the F-gas Regulations by 2017 means that an increasing proportion of the installed HFCs compressor base will need to be replaced or retrofitted.

3. Danfoss China Intensifying Fight against Counterfeit in Compressor
Danfoss Maneurop compressors have been very successful for several decades in the Chinese market. In return, several counterfeiters are willing to benefit from this situation and raise many issues mainly related to safety and reliability. According to a Danfoss survey on fake Maneurop compressors in the third quarter of 2013, the total faked Maneurop compressors account for about 7% of the market volume in the China region.

4. Ingersoll Rand to Invest US$ 16 Million in Its Factory in Gujarat
Ingersoll Rand has announced that it will invest Rs 1 billion (US$ 16 million) to upgrade its manufacturing facility in Naroda, near Ahmedabad in Gujarat, West India. The investment will reinforce Ingersoll Rand’s growth strategy in India and its long standing commitment to the country. Products and solutions manufactured at the Naroda plant will be distributed across Indian as well as global markets.

5. Embraco Promoting R290 Light Commercial Compressor
On September 10, Reinaldo Maykot, vice president of Embraco’s global sales and marketing operation, signed the strategic partnership agreement with president of Qingdao Hiron Commercial Cold Chain, one of the top three commercial freezer suppliers in China, at the headquarter of Hiron. Both companies will cooperate in the fields of system performance, R&D and design as well as promotion of the application of R290 products in China.
