EC Approves Acquisition of Indesit by Whirlpool

The European Commission (EC) has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Italia-based Indesit Company S.p.A. by the U.S.-based Whirlpool Corporation. Both companies manufacture and supply major home appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, cooking appliances, dishwashers or, washing machine stumble dryers and microwave ovens.
