Use of Flammable Refrigerants

Adoption of refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP) in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector is taking on urgency as a measure to prevent climate change. Many of the low-GWP refrigerants are mildly flammable. Meanwhile, there are also growing calls to use CO2 and hydrocarbons (HCs) as the natural working fluid in place of high-GWP HFCs.
