* India(VRF)
Demand for VRF systems in India is estimated at 24,000 units in 2013. As calculated by cooling capacity, a total capacity of 300,000 hp has been reached in the Indian market, showing 15% year-on-year growth. Based on current economic development, the outlook for 2014 is positive and the market is expected to continue growing at around 15% annually. The sales volume of VRF systems is expected to reach 30,000 units in 2014.

1. Flammable Refrigerants
The new F-gas regulations, which have now become law, will ultimately drive the industry to the use of lower global warming potential (GWP) fluids and inevitably to those with some degree of flammability. R32 looks likely to become one of the principal players and Daikin in particular has already adopted it for a wide range of packaged air conditioning units.

2. Johnson Controls Completes Purchase of Air Distribution Technologies
The acquisition of Air Distribution Technologies by Johnson Controls for US$ 1.6 billion is now complete. Johnson Controls announced in April its intention to acquire Air Distribution Technologies, one of the largest and strongest independent providers of air distribution and ventilation products in North America.

3. Fujitsu General ACs Introduced through Eurofred Chile
On June 11, 2014, the introduction of air conditioning equipment of Fujitsu General brand to the hilean market was announced. A few days after that, a formal presentation was held with some 50 persons related to the Chilean HVAC industry. 4. MHI Bingshan Refrigeration (Dalian) to Operate in This Year
Dalian Refrigeration announced on June 16 that its currently under construction joint venture company with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI),  MHI Bingshan Refrigeration (Dalian) Co., Ltd., will be put into operation in the second half of the year and will focus on production, sales and service of centrifugal chillers. The company  is expected to reach annual production capacity of 500 units, with sales value hitting RMB 600 million (US$ 97 million).

5. Panasonic to Beef Up Cold Chain Business
. Panasonic is going to beef up the cold chain business centering on commercial refrigeration units such as supermarket display cases. The company aims at expanding the sales from this business to about \300 billion (US$ 3 billion) in 2018 or about two times as much as those at the present.
