Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico are the top three air conditioner markets in Latin America with the combined market volume of 6.2 million units in 2013. Air conditioners sold in Latin America are mainly imported from Asian countries including China, with few local brands. According to China Customs, air conditioners exported to Latin America enjoyed 9.0% year-on-year growth in 2013.

1. Mitsubishi Electric U.S. Introduces 30.5 SEER Ductless Mini-Split Unit
At 30.5 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER), it is the highest efficiency rating for heating and air conditioning systems and can use up to 40% less energy per room than a conventional system, the company commented.

2. ISK-SODEX 2014, Turkish HVAC&R Expo
ISK-SODEX 2014 was held from May 7 to 10 at Istanbul Expo Center in Turkey. “The Turkish HVAC sector aims to expand its export business to approximately US$25 billion by 2023. ISK-SODEX will play a major part in this process as it already serves as a meeting place not only for the regional sector but for the industry worldwide”, says ISKID chairperson Naci Sahin.

4. Expo Frio Calor Chile 2014
The Chilean HVAC trade show took place in Santiago, from May 14 to 16 and was concentrating on the main issues such as environmental protection and power consumption reduction. Consequently, VRF products occupied an important area of the exhibition hall. More and more companies are entering this market segment which is doubtless the most rapidly growing market segment of Chile.

5. Sanhua Develops Fourway Valve in Large Cooling Capacity
Sanhua released its new 120 RT series four way valve, which is a key product to be promoted this year. The product adopts Sanhua patented dual tube design, with single unit capacity enhanced to 120 RT, highest in the industry.
