Report finds CCC essential to climate policy

A government review has found that there is an extremely strong case for the retention of the Committee on Climate Change’s functions. The review found that in the absence of these functions, Government would not receive the necessary advice on the levels of climate change targets and Carbon Budgets; or be held accountable by a credible body who are independent.
