IKEA Planning State’s Largest Geothermal Project for Kansas City Store

IKEA has announced plans for a geothermal heating and cooling system at its future Kansas City-area store under construction in Merriam, Kan. Related drilling and underground work should be complete by winter, with the system -- the largest such project in Kansas or Missouri -- operational when IKEA Merriam opens in fall 2014 as the second United States IKEA store tapping geothermal.
