Date overload spurs investment in cold stores
2013-09-04
Six cold stores in Saudi Arabia dedicated for dates storage with a total capacity of 100,000 tons have stopped receiving any orders to take in more produce because they are full. Abdulaziz Al-Twaijri, member of the National Centre for Palms and Dates, said cold stores in Al-Qassim are not enough to meet the seasonal demand despite their large capacity, according to the Saudi Gazette.
