Harvesting waste energy from sewage in Brussels

Vivaqua, the Brussels water company, has set up a trial system to harvest waste heat from sewage using heat pumps! Olivier Broers (Vivaqua) explains: "In the sewage, the temperature is very high. Usually it is around 12°C - 15°C but at this time of the year it raises up to 15°C - 20°C." This heat will be dispatched to a heat pump.
