3.2 China’s Cold Chain Market 2012

It is estimated that the total production volume of fresh produce in China was about 700 million tons in 2011, while that of frozen food was above 25 million tons. However, the current cold storage capacity in China is only around 9 million tons, of which 0.5 million tons are operated by foreign companies, joint ventures and private companies, the other 8.5 million tons are state-owned.
