The economic outlook for the United Kingdom is ‘pretty bleak’ says BSRIA with the construction industry now in a deep recession and is unlikely to begin its recovery before 2015. Refurbishment has become the main driver for the industry. The commercial sector is the main user of air conditioning at 42% penetration but is seen as a luxury item for houses and apartments where penetration is only 3%. No improvement in these figures is expected by 2016.
