Brazil recorded chiller demand of US$ 104.0 million in 2011, making it the largest market in Latin America. By chiller type, reciprocating, screw, and scroll chillers accounted for almost 75% of the market and a value of US$ 77.7 million, up 37.8% from 2010. Nearly 20% of the market was taken by centrifugal chillers, valued at US$ 20.6 million and an increase of 31.2% compared with US$ 15.7 million in 2010.
