High Prices Result in Lower RAC Sales this Summer

Room air conditioner (RAC) sales have dipped by about 40% this summer, compared with the previous year, because of higher prices due to soaring input costs, as a result of a weakening of the Rupee as well as the upgrade of energy efficiency norms. Prices have risen by about 20% over the past year, resulting in about 40% drop in sales during the months of April and May 2012.
