China actively promotes natural refrigerants in its refrigeration industry

China aims to widely adopt R290 by 2015 and initiate R744 (CO2) by 2020 in the refrigeration sector, according to its new technology roadmap. Domestic manufacturers are also vigorously promoting the application of natural refrigerants. However, the refrigeration industry is not yet ready for the widespread use of R744, with R290 the preferred refrigerant.
