China’s scroll compressor market has been shrinking year after year, due to competition from rotary compressors, in particular with large-capacity twin-rotary models. JARN estimates that China’s scroll compressor market shrank significantly in 2020, decreasing by 19.5% year-on-year to 2.92 million units. In particular, the smaller capacity range of 3 to 7 hp has fallen sharply and there is almost no market for below 3-hp models.
