2. Mitsubishi Electric’s Compressor Technology
Compressors are extremely important components in the structure of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, playing an important role in determining the performance of such systems together with heat exchangers and fans. Improving the efficiency of the compressor greatly contributes to reducing the power consumption of the system. Therefore, manufacturers are putting a lot of effort into improving the efficiency of compressors. Mitsubishi Electric has been producing and offering various compressors. In particular, the company has developed models equipped with various new technologies in the fields of rotary and scroll compressors. These models have been widely adopted not only in Mitsubishi Electric’s own products but also in other companies’ products and have been well received.

3. İSKİD Assesses 2020 Data on the Turkish Air Conditioning Industry
According to the five-year data on changes in the market, the Turkish split-type air conditioner market recorded the peak periods in 2017 and 2018 when the construction industry was among the most buoyant industries. Then, the retail market was seriously affected by fluctuations in the exchange rate in August 2018. The stocks in the distribution channel could not be sold, resulting in a decline in the 2019 sales numbers. In 2020, the Turkish split-type air conditioner market detected a production-sales movement of over 1.5 million, achieving 10% growth, outperforming the pre-crisis levels of 2019. It is safe to say that family members who stayed, worked, and studied at home during the pandemic changed their consumption habits in order to improve their domestic comfort and consequently bought the air conditioners that best suited their homes, and such domestic purchases expanded the retail and wholesale markets.

4. Increased Port Costs to Increase AC Retail Prices in Indonesia
Perprindo, the association of cooling and refrigeration companies in Indonesia, adjusted the service rate for lift-on/lift-off services and international container storage at Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta starting on April 15, 2021, as reported by Kontan, a local commercial newspaper. Perprindo assessed that the increase in service rates at the Tanjung Priok port will be a heavy burden for companies along with increasing raw material costs and the weakening exchange rate of the Indonesian rupiah. Even if companies have production bases in Indonesia, they will still be hit hard as most raw materials still need to be imported. The increase in production costs will ultimately raise the selling price.
