Climalife Launches Two New ExxonMobil Lubricants

2018-04-25
France-based Climalife has launched two new lubricants to address new refrigerant trends. Mobil Gargoyle Arctic 68 NH is a high-performance refrigeration oil that has been developed to address the growing use of ammonia. It is designed for the lubrication of refrigeration reciprocating and screw compressors using ammonia, and features excellent low-temperature performance, extended oil drain intervals, optimal oil flow, and wide temperature performance. Its very low miscibility with ammonia limits oil thinning and minimizes oil carry- over, while its low vapor pressure reduces oil consumption.

The other newly launched lubricant is Mobil SHC Gargoyle 80 POE, which is formulated from poly-olesters (POE) for CO2 in miscible applications. Its miscibility with CO2 refrigerant and the viscosity/ temperature pressure ratios ensure an adequate film thickness, even at high operating pressures and temperatures. With a stable viscosity index, high shear strength and fluidity at low temperatures, this oil offers benefits in intensive usage conditions, including fewer leaks from the shaft seal and potential for improved evaporator efficiency.
