Development of Water-source Heat Pumps in China

2009-12-25
A water-source heat pump (WSHP) is a central heating and/or cooling system that pumps heat to or from various sources, including underground water, river (lake) water, sea water and domestic sewage. It takes advantage of the moderate temperatures in the water to boost efficiency and reduce the operational costs of heating and cooling systems. Unlike an air- source heat pump, which transfers heat to or from the outside air, a water-source heat pump is much more energy- efficient because water temperatures are typically more stable than air temperatures throughout the year. Additionally, WSHP systems use renewable energy, and therefore can be considered environmental- friendly products.
