Overall, Manufacturers continuously develop models that offer higher levels of convenience and attempt to outperform the competition in improved energy savings, comfort, air purification, easy maintenance, intelligent technology, environmental friendliness, and design.
 
Energy Savings
 
At approximately 30%, RACs account for a large proportion of an average household’s electricity consumption. Heating operation consumes a lot of electricity in particular, and energy performance is a product feature that users are most interested in. The percentage of replacement demand is growing in China, the world’s largest air conditioner market, and has already reached close to 40% of total demand. Energy performance is cited as the largest factor sparking replacement demand. RAC manufacturers have achieved high efficiency in key components including the compressor, heat exchanger, fan, and motor with basic technologies. The efficiency of the key components, however, has more or less reached its limits, with intense competition now for incremental efficiency improvements. Manufacturers are using simulations as a way to develop even slightly higher efficiency by, for example, visualizing refrigerant behavior inside the heat exchanger and airflow from fan impellers and air duct shapes with modeling and simulations.
