The global economy enjoyed slow recovery in 2017 and China’s exports of household electrical appliances showed continuous growth.

The first half-year saw 7.7% growth, while the third quarter saw 7.0% growth, and October saw 14.5% growth, reaching US$ 4.9 billion. Meanwhile, the value of imports during the same period amounted to US$ 3.4 billion, showing 21.5% year-on-year growth. The trade surplus amounted to US$ 48.1 billion with a 7.6% growth rate.

In the first 10 months of 2017, small electrical appliances and components have grown in terms of sales volume and sales value, maintaining steady growth since March 2017, thanks to the recovery in sales of kitchen appliances and vacuum cleaners, along with steady growth in sales of indoor comfort products. It was noticeable that in October 2017, all large electrical appliances excluding washing machines have maintained growth both in terms of sales volume and sales value. Several manufacturers have optimized their product portfolio for export markets, shifting from low-end products to medium- and high-end products.
