AHPNW Tokyo Workshop Held
2017/12/27
On October 30, the Heat Pump and Thermal Storage Technology Center of Japan (HPTCJ) held the Tokyo Workshop of Asian Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technologies Network (AHPNW). AHPNW was established in 2011 with a view to spreading and expanding heat pump and thermal storage technologies. At present, seven nations, namely Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and Thailand, take part.

In Asia, the quantity of energy consumption and that of greenhouse gas emissions are anticipated to increase sizably. In order to prevent global warming, it is becoming urgent to accelerate the spread of heat pump technologies since they are regarded as being effective means of utilizing renewable energy sources.

Experts and specialists not only from within Japan but also from overseas were invited to the Tokyo Workshop. They introduced the current status of heat pump technologies in their own countries and explained the issues involved. About 130 persons attended, showing the extent of interest in the current workshop.
