Thermax Absorption Chillers Achieve Glycol Free Cooling at 1oC

Targeting the food and beverage industry, Thermax’s award-winning one degree chilled water absorption chiller has found global acceptance especially in the dairy, beverage, and edible oil segments which require chilled water at lower temperature of 1 to 3oC for their applications.
 
Glycols are commonly used as anti-freezing agents to prevent the freezing of chilled water while operating at temperature near to 0oC. Glycols are moderately toxic, corrosive, costly to purchase, and have inferior heat transfer property compared to water. By eliminating it, Thermax helps the customer avoid hazardous leakage, corrosion, and the recurring cost of replacing the costly glycol solution. It also eliminates the need for a secondary pumping circuit, thereby simplifying the system and reducing capital cost as well as operational cost.
