Clean Energy Power Generation Surpasses 27% Share in First Half of 2017

During the first half of 2017, total clean energy power generation in China increased by 5.2% year-on-year, accounting for 27.2% of the total power generation, of which, wind power increased by 25.7%, solar power increased by 80.3%, and nuclear power increased by 20.8%. The total clean energy power generation during the first half of the year was equivalent to a reduction of coal-generated electricity by 50 billion kWh and a reduction in coal consumption of 22 million tons.
 
After entering the flood season, the proportion of clean energy power generation will be further enhanced because of increased water flow. According to preliminary estimates, coal-generated electricity was estimated to have been reduced by 40 billion kWh and coal consumption was reduced by 18 million tons during the period spanning July to September.
