Asada IR Leak Detector Wins the Minister of the Environment Prize
2017/10/23
Asada, which is developing, manufacturing, selling, exporting, and importing piping equipment and tools, has won the Minister of the Environment Prize in ‘the 20th ozone layer protection and global warming prevention grand prize’ program sponsored by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. The company won the prize for its fluorocarbon leak detector that can detect fluorocarbons leaking at -30°C from cold storage facilities and air conditioning equipment in cold regions.

Since fluorocarbons used in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment are a major cause of global warming and ozone layer depletion, the Act on Rational Use and Proper Management of Fluorocarbons (the revised Fluorocarbons Law) was implemented in 2015 in Japan to prevent fluorocarbons from leaking, and those concerned are now obliged to periodically check fluorocarbon leakage.
