IFA 2017 -- Fierce Competition Among Asian Manufacturers in European Market
2017/10/22
IFA 2017 was held in Berlin, Germany, from September 1 to 6, and was very successful, attracting over 1,800 exhibitors from around the world. IFA is one of the largest consumer electronics exhibitions and many companies regard it as an important international platform to display their latest products and technologies.

IFA 2017 witnessed unparalleled Asian power. Panasonic from Japan attracted consumers from all over the world thanks to its advanced technologies. The major Korean brands, LG and Samsung, also attracted a lot of attention.

For Chinese home appliance manufacturers, IFA is an excellent opportunity to introduce their manufacturing ability to Europe and even the world. Chinese brands such as Haier, Hisense, Gree, Midea, Changhong, TCL, and Skyworth showed up to demonstrate Chinese intelligent manufacturing. This year more than 650 Chinese companies participated in IFA, accounting for about 40% of the total number of exhibitors. Apart from an increase in the number of exhibitors, Chinese companies also increased investments in their promotional activities and exhibition areas. Haier rented 48 billboards at Frankfurt Airport. Haier’s booth at IFA covered more than 1,800 m2, twice the area of its booth last year. Midea’s booth was twice the size of that of last year, reaching 1,000 m2. Taking part for the seventh year, TCL increased the size of its booth from 700 m2 in 2011 to 1,800 m2 in 2017.
