Panasonic Supplies Air Purifier Incorporating nanoe Device to Rail Cars
2017/08/29
An air purifier incorporating a ‘nanoe’ device, which has jointly been developed by Panasonic and JR East Rail Car Technology & Maintenance (JRTM), will be mounted on Keio’s new 5000-series rail cars which will start running in September 2017.

The newly developed air purifier features a nanoe device that Panasonic System Solutions Japan supplied to JRTM, which then completed the new air purifier model by including a control power-supply apparatus in the nanoe device for supply to Keio, a private railway company in the Tokyo area.

The nanoe device creates nanosized electrostatic atomized water particles by applying high voltage to the water gathered from moisture in the air, and is highly valued because of its range of beneficial effects, such as deodorization and bacterial growth inhibition. It is therefore incorporated in air purifiers, air conditioners, dryers, steamers, etc. With the air purifier mounted on commuter trains and the nanosized particles emitted from the ceilings of rail cars, Panasonic is offering a comfortable air environment to commuters.
