Daikin: Reliable indoor air in hurricane zones
2017/08/12
Aug 09, 2017
When the peak of hurricane season arrives in late August, our reliance on mission-critical facilities, like hospitals and data centers, hits its own peak. Whether providing the southeast region with data connectivity or keeping an ER safe and fully functioning, there is no closing the doors and shutting down the equipment of mission-critical facilities in the wake of natural disaster. Critical in that equation is that building’s HVAC system: providing cool, quality air when people need it the most.

South Florida is no stranger to this concern and its ensuing costs. As the most hurricane-prone state in the U.S., 488 recorded tropical or subtropical cyclones have impacted the state of Florida. The financial impact? $115 billion dollars in damages. What was needed during and after all 488 storms? High-quality indoor air. The peak of risk is arriving soon: nearly one third of hurricanes affect Florida in September, and nearly 75% happen between the peak season from August to October.
