From April 1, 2017 onwards, Corona will be selling 18 new Eco Cute water heater models successively. Five models, including a high-grade type and a high-grade high-pressure type, have improved the energy-saving performance by raising the Annual Performance Factor (APF) for hot tap water supply and standby heating from 3.3 for the conventional models to 3.4 under conditions specified in the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), thus contributing to the reduction of primary energy consumption.
The new Eco Cute water heater models feature three functions, namely peak cut -off, a heating-up time shift, and power saving, which prevent electric power consumption from reaching a peak according to the new electricity tariffs and the power consumption context. Furthermore, the heating-up time shift function has been improved so that the timing of the starting of the heating-up operation can be shifted to an earlier time slot, even in a contract that has a short nighttime zone. Thanks to these functions, the peak power consumption of a whole household early in the morning is held down, and in the case of a contract based on the amount of electricity actually used, the basic electric rate can be set lower than usual.
