Mitsubishi Electric won the Chair-man Prize of the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ), the 2016 Energy Conservation Grand Prize for excellent energy conservation equipment in the Product/Business Model Category for its packaged air conditioner (PAC) Mr. Slim ZR series type P280.
The Mr. Slim ZR series type P280 has been highly rated not only for total energy conservation that can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the electric power consumption through the improvement of the annual performance factor (APF), but also for the peak energy conservation realized by improving the rated cooling/heating Coefficient Of Performance (COP), lowering peak electric power and contract power by reducing the rated input.
For the first time in the industry, Mitsubishi Electric adopted the low-loss power semiconductor module Full Silicon Carbide Dual Inline Package Intelligent Power Module (SiCDIPIPM) for the switching device of the compressor motor driving inverter circuit in the prize-winning PAC for store/office use. As a result, these PACs have realized a reduction of power loss of about 35% and the industry’s top- class APF of 5.5.
