EcoPro 2016 was held from December 8 to 10 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center. This was the 18th exposition in the series, and with ‘Countermeasures against Global Warming and Environmental Considerations’ and ‘Clean Energy and Smart Society’ as overarching themes, the event has evolved from ‘Eco-Products’ to ‘EcoPro - Inter-national Exhibition on Environment and Energy.’ A total of 700 companies and organizations including NPOs and universities exhibited, and EcoPro 2016 attracted more than 167,000 visitors. As a general exposition dedicated to the environment/energy representing Asia, it proposed the creation of a sustain-able society.
At the current exposition, plant-based ‘Cellulose Nano-Fiber (CNF)’ that is a newly created sought-after material, ‘Clean Energy’ such as hydrogen and underground heat, and ‘Products Intended to Prevent/ Reduce Disaster’ that can cope with natural disasters such as earthquakes and abnormal weather attracted a great deal of attention. Also, many seminars and forums took place, and covered a wide range of themes ranging from state -of-the-art technologies to eco-life.
