In November 2016, Corona began selling a new Corona Ecodan Floor 4.5 model (ERB-HP45CF) of heatpump type hot-water floor heating system. The new model has attained a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.62, which is a top of the industry energy-saving performance.
Corona Ecodan Floor is a system in which hot water is produced with heat that is extracted from the air by the heat pump and is used for floor heating. Among Corona Ecodan Floor models, Corona Ecodan Floor 4.5 is that with a rated hot-water output of 4.5 kW and its floor-heating capacity in terms of room space is about 33 m2 at its maximum at an outdoor temperature down to -10°C in a house that meets the next-generation energy-efficiency standard.
The new model has made progress in energy-saving performance, raising the COP from 4.35 for the conventional model to 4.62, which is the industry’s No.1 value. The lowest outdoor temperature at which the new model can operate has been extended down to -15°C from -10°C with the conventional model. Noise during operation has been reduced to 45 dB compared with 47 dB for the conventional model. In addition, the Corona Ecodan Floor 4.5 allows a user to choose between two different modes, normal operation mode, which attaches importance to quiet operation, and quick heating mode, which provides quick heating.
