At 2017 AHR Expo, SWEP will display its AHRI-certified XXL range of brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHEs) and more district energy solutions.
BPHEs are now being designed with much higher capacities with the goal of improving their operational effectiveness in district energy systems. This means that brazed plate technology now provides optimized solutions in district heating and cooling applications worldwide.
BPHEs offer several advantages over the older gasket plate heat exchanger (GPHE) and shell-and-tube technologies: compactness - a BPHE can be half the size and weight of its GPHE equivalent, efficiency, reliability, flexibility, cost-effectiveness - minimal maintenance and no gasket replacement costs, and customization. Turbulent flows mean that BPHEs are also self-cleaning. Even when water quality is a concern, or in applications with a high risk of fouling or scaling, the BPHEs’ clean-in-place ability allows them to be maintained without disassembly, which means almost no downtime where these are installed.
