Brazil saw a sharp 30% decrease in chiller demand in 2015 compared with 2014 due to the current economic and political crisis. The total chiller market contracted to two-thirds of its former size over the past two years.
Spending cuts had a catastrophic effect on the chiller market as the market relies heavily on large investments and construction. The recession and downtime in large projects are responsible for the significant drop.
The market for centrifugal chillers dropped significantly by 63%. Imported centrifugal chillers had the largest drop of around 70% when compared with 2013.
