CEATEC Japan was held from October 4 to 7 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. With ‘Connecting Society, Creating the Future’ as its theme this year, the exhibition attracted a total of 648 companies/organizations, up 22% compared with the previous year. The total number of visitors was 145,180, up 9.1% (12,132) compared with the previous year.
This was the 17th edition of CEATEC Japan, and the focus has now radically shifted from General Exhibition of IT/Electronics to Cyber Physical System (CPS)/ Internet of Things (IoT) Exhibition. Concretely, it was reborn as the Technology Showcase of CPS/IoT as a venue for conveying concepts and new business models foreseeing the future and capable of changing lifestyles and industrial structures.
