Chemours appointed Mauricio Xavier as the new president of the company in Brazil. He will be in charge of the strategy and expansion of the Brazilian unit, replacing Antonio Mori, who is retiring after 30 years at DuPont/Chemours.
Mr. Xavier has been working in Chemours since 1988, when he began as a specialist in marketing and communications at DuPont with positions of market coordinator for the Southern region and marketing manager for South America. In 2014, after the creation of Chemo
urs as a result of separation from Du- Pont, he took over as director of the company’s fluorinated products in Brazil.
Mr. Xavier is an electronics engineer who graduated from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and postgraduate Escola Superior de Propaganda and Marketing (ESPM), and is renowned for his performance in the development and implementation of plans and projects for the replacement of refrigerants - chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) - with alternatives and products with no ozone-depleting effects. For this work in 2009, he was honored by associations and companies in the sector, such as ABRAVA, Ozone Group, a real estate developer in Brazil, and CETESB, a Sao Paulo state-run public environmental protection corporation.
