Iran’s market size for chillers was US$ 148.9 million in 2015, a 3.8% decrease compared with 2014. There is more demand for absorption chillers in Iran than in other Middle Eastern countries. However, demand for absorption chillers, which account for one-third of the market on a value basis, fell by 19.5% to US$ 48.9 million. Other types of chillers, namely reciprocating, scroll, screw, and centrifugal, all recorded positive growth in 2015. With the end of economic sanctions, there are hopes for economic revitalization and increased business opportunities in the country.
Leading Japanese absorption manufacturers Kawasaki Thermal Engineering and Ebara boast solid brand reputations in the local market. Chinese manufacturer Shuangliang has achieved remarkable growth in Iran, and South Korean companies have also intensified their market exploration.
