Indonesia saw real GDP growth of 4.79% in 2015, a downward trend for the fifth year running. Public investment was down, and construction of office buildings and hotels has been postponed.
The Indonesian chiller market in 2015 contracted to US$ 74.7 mil-lion, a decrease of 13.1% compared with in 2014, and Indonesia gave up its long-standing top position to Thailand. An 18.7% decrease in the screw chiller sector, which accounted for nearly half of the total chiller market on a value basis, was a major factor in the market contraction. The scroll segment recorded positive growth of 53.0%, increasing to US$ 10.7 million in 2015.
