The U.S. GDP annual growth rate in 2015 was 2.43%, nearly the same as that of 2014 according to the IMF. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the annual value of construction spending in the non-residential sector increased in 2015 by 8.1% compared with the previous year.
The U.S. economy is maintaining gradual recovery, and the chiller demand in the United States largely increased in 2015. According to BSRIA, overall chiller demand in the U.S. market reached US$ 1.1 billion in 2015, an increase of about 9.0% compared with the previous year.
The United States is the second largest chiller market in the world, almost equal to that of European countries. Of chillers manufactured in the United States, 30?35% are shipped overseas. This manufacturing volume accounts for about 20% of the total number of chillers manufactured in the world. Half of large chillers exceeding 1,500 tons manufactured in the United States are shipped for big projects in Asian and the Middle Eastern markets.
