Parker Hannifin recently released a commercial line of unipolar step-per motor driven electric expansion valves, designated the commercial electric valve (CEV). The CEV valve comes as an addition to the previously released SEV product line and the SEV-C with internal check valve.
The CEV is a bi-flow electric expansion valve, capable of metering refrigerant in either flow direction. The CEV is rated for 43 bar (624 psi) maximum rated pressure. These valves are compatible with mineral and Polyolester (POE) oils and most common hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants. R290 (propane) and R32 compatibility testing is in process. CEV can be applied for R410A capacities up to 36.5 kW (10.4 tons) and R22 capacities up to 30.7 kW (8.7 tons).
