Dorin has always sought new solutions for environmental protection and the reduction of energy consumption. This greenhouse gas reduction encouraged the company to participate in a large scale European project called ‘Next Generation of Heat Pumps working with Natural fluids’ (NxtHPG). The purpose of this project is to develop a range of secure, reliable, highly efficient, and large capacity heat pumps using natural gas, hydrocarbons and CO2.
As part of this project Dorin has created a new 4-cylinder transcritical compressor developed specifically for such applications. The CDHP2500 model was used on a 50 kW air-to-water (ATW) heat pump test system for the production of high temperature water. It replaced the traditional gas boiler for environmental heating by means of traditional radiators.
