In August 2002, Nihon Itomic began selling its commercial Eco Cute units for the first time. The cumulative shipments to date have reached about 3,000 units including those sold overseas. From the very start, Nihon Itomic has worked to increase sales, concentrating first on those units for elder and health care facilities, and now supplying Eco Cute units to schools, hotels, and other facilities.
Since their release in August 2002, Nihon Itomic has continued to update the Eco Cute units and expand its range of products. The company started by introducing a midsize model with a heating capacity of 26.3/30.5 kW (50/60 Hz) with dry bulb (DB) temperature 16oC/wet bulb (WB) temperature 12oC, and delivers 65oC hot water, it then released the large-size model Y Flame that has a heating capacity of 65 kW with DB 16oC/WB 12oC, and delivers 65oC hot water in February 2012. By incorporating an inverter, the Y Flame has realized the same level of performance in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz areas. Although the middle-size model exhibits a fixed performance in winter, the Y Flame can exhibit almost the same level of performance in winter as it does in intermediate seasons by raising the compressor speed up to 2,100 rpm.
