The UK market scale was around 19,400 units in 2015, representing growth of 9.0% over the previous year. Of this, 90% was monobloc and 10% was split. Monobloc dominates the UK market.
Heat pumps have received attention as one means of achieving the government’s targets for reducing the effects of climate change. In line with this, the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for heat pumps was launched in April 2014 to boost demand for the energy-saving equipment.
Rent controls have been put in place for public housing, however, limiting the revenue public housing bodies receive, and the number of new public housing complexes is expected to stop growing. There have been a large number of ATW systems sold to public housing properties, and the falling number of new construction projects may negatively impact sales.
