4. Contributions：4.1 Italy
Reported by Carmine Casale, HVAC&R Consultant, Italy
It is hoped that 2015 will prove to be the starting point of a substantial recovery for the general economy and the HVAC industry in Italy. A slight deflation is still evident in Italy and in the European Union with the construction market remaining very weak, likely at its minimal level, but there are now clear signs of a recovery. Residential housing is very slow, and no office buildings are planned except for few skyscrapers in large towns, particularly Milano.
The air conditioning sector shows great vitality and is beginning to recuperate. This market improvement is primarily due to refurbishment of large building systems and a beneficial push towards energy qualification. Alternative energy sources such as photovoltaic and solar heating, are making strong progress and heat pumps are becoming a must.
