Economic development in Thailand slowed down owing to the rising price of agricultural products and falling exports of industrial products. In 2015, the Thai air conditioner market got off to a slow start, owing to cooler days in May. Sales started to increase in June and hit a peak in July.
From January to February 2016, Bangkok experienced cool weather with temperatures as low as 15°C, this being about 10°C below the normal value. In March this year, the temperature started to rise, and the arrival of summer is awaited with high expectations.
JARN estimates the Thai RAC and PAC market scale at 1.4 million units and 120,000 units in 2015, respectively, with 6% year-on-year growth.
