Commercial air conditioning units are classified as rooftops (combination heating/ cooling), packaged cooling, and packaged heat pumps with capacity over 5 RT.
Ducted residential air conditioner shipments increased 29% from 205,598 units in 2014 to 264,354 units in 2015. Residential air conditioning units are classified as ducted split system air conditioners and heat pumps with capacity up to 5 RT.
Ductless split system shipments increased 1% from 84,888 units in 2014 to 85,992 units in 2015. Ductless splits refer to cooling-only air conditioning units and heat pumps.
