2016/05/24
The U.S. industry is seeing growth, but overall manufacturing growth momentum slowed a little in 2015. Record cold temperatures and snowfall during the winter disrupted new construction markets and HVAC replacement. A large inventory buildup late 2014 carried through into 2015 due to regulatory changes that slowed sales growth.

Looking at the U.S. air conditioner market in 2015, unitary and window- type air conditioners showed a slight year-on-year decrease, and mini-split air conditioners saw growth which fell short of expectations. Overall, the air conditioner market was slightly decreasing in the United States in 2015.

AHR Expo is also gradually becoming an exhibition that highlights both U.S.- style ducted and Asian-style ductless air conditioner products and technologies.
