Danfoss to Release More Innovative Compressors in 2016
2016/02/26
New Danfoss scroll compressors with intermediate discharge valves (IDVs) will be available in cooling capacities from 7.5 to 40 tons and offer new features and options that deliver the most cost-effective solution for the next generation of roof-top units and chillers with R410A.

IDVs allow the compressor to avoid over-compression losses and, thus, extra work by the motor during part-load operation - enabling Danfoss scrolls DCJ and DSH to save energy and improve integrated energy efficiency ratio (IEER) and integrated part load value (IPLV) up to 9%. Plus, Danfoss scrolls with IDVs are backward compatible with the existing Danfoss SH range, leading to minimal redesign and implementation costs.

Leveraging Danfoss’ experience with rooftop and chiller applications, Danfoss scroll compressors with IDVs include additional tandem and trio combinations, an extension of the operating map, improved liquid handling capability, and a patented, more robust oil management method in manifolding applications.
